There is something truly amazing about giving birth. Whether you are a first time mom, or having your 5th; a c-section, water birth, all natural, or epidural; you will learn things about yourself you never knew. You’ll find new strengths, and see your partner in an entirely different light. It will take your breath away, an to be honest, you probably won’t remember a good majority of the small details that mean the most. That’s what I’m here for.

I know how much I changed after giving birth, and in more ways than you’d think. I had my birth photographed, and when I look at those photos, I see another side of myself that I hadn’t known before. After photographing my first birth, I was hooked. It is a perfect fit for me, and I’d love to introduce you to that other side of yourself that you don’t yet know.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

About Ember

I was a tom boy growing up, and never was much interested in dressing up and playing ‘girly’. As I began to get older, I started to develop what it meant to me to be a woman. I found out that I was pregnant, and I faced that challenge as a single mother. In that experience, I found more strength than I ever thought I could possess. My son is the light of my life, and he has shown me an entirely new perspective on life. More recently, as a cancer survivor, that perspective has again been altered. I love everything about motherhood, and being a woman. It amazes me the capacity we have to love, and the way our souls and bodies morph and change to bring new life into the world. I would be privileged to witness and document your journey as a woman and a mother, and look forward to the opportunity to show you how beautiful you look in that role.
